Ice Cream In A Bag At The Park

After a short hike on a HOT SUMMER day, what would be really refreshing and fun? ICE CREAM in a bag at the park of course. But, because it's science experiment day, the students had to make their own ice cream! Making ice cream is easy and fun, and takes only a few minutes. This experiment teaches kids how salt melts the ice and lowers its temperature to freeze the sweet milk solution. Students also learn measurements too.

You will need a few ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk or half & half
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoon rock salt
  • 1 sandwich size plastic food storage bag
  • 1 gallon size plastic food storage bag
  • Ice cubes
How to make it
  1. Fill the large bag full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.
  2. Put milk, vanilla, and sugar into the sandwich bag, and seal it.
  3. Place the small bag inside the large one, and seal it again carefully.
  4. Shake until mixture is ice cream, which takes about 5 minutes.
  5. Wipe off the top of the small bag (of salt water mixture), then open it carefully.
  6. Enjoy!

Robotics Inchworm

Justin and Shana just started robotics recently. They chose to do an robotic inchworm. It's an easy project, and their completed project can be enjoyed immediately. Shana likes the camera, while Justin would rather not be on screen
